materiel Condition Tags/Labels:

Numerous Fleet activities have identified durability issues experienced with the current paperboard materiel Condition Tags and Labels (DD Form 1574–1577 Series) available through the Naval Form Center. The following alternative option is provided.

Graphic Products, Inc. developed durable, UV-resistant, adhesive-backed vinyl Materiel Condition Labels . All five versions of the materiel Condition Label are available. The labels come in 140' rolls. Adobe templates are used to enter and save required field data. All information may be preprinted on the labels using a thermal transfer printer, except for the individual's signature and the inspection indicator stamp - these are not authorized to be preprinted. For entries in the "Inspectors name or stamp" block, the vinyl surface of the tag accepts the Sharpie® industrial, super-permanent marker and several other permanent inks tested by HITT Marking Devices that are compatible with inspection indicator stamps. (The inks are effective on Type II traceable seals, too.) The vinyl labels also proved effective in applying container markings, thus eliminating hazardous waste associated with stenciling containers.
